The virus has its own RNA sequence that can be identified quickly, reliably and unambiguously at any hotspot using micro fluorescence spectroscopy. This makes ICHORtec’s method ideal for use in outpatient clinics, doctor’s offices, public offices, companies and all travel hubs.

The Device

How does the ICHOR-System work?

The ICHORtec system, consisting of an analysis box and a test tube, has been developed to scan for various viruses, e.g. the detection of SARS-COV-2. Today we know the RNA sequence of SARS-COV-2, and we can use this to our advantage. If this sequence is specifically docked to a complementary probe using our patented method, we can identify the sequence via the unique energy signature of the reaction.

Which method does ICHORtec use?

The cuvette is equipped with a special sensor and contains a molecular beacon (dye probe / beacon). The sensor reacts with a specific RNA sequence, e.g. from a virus. If the molecular beacon and the virus match (hybridisation), an a unique energy signature is released, and can be measured.

What are the outstanding features of the FMB® method?

  • High sensitivity (LoD – Limit of Detection)
    This method is very sensitive. In the case of COVID-19, a very small number of nucleotides is sufficient to detect the corona virus. It is comparable to the PCR method, but the results are available in a much shorter time.
  • Shortest measurement time
    The system can be used as a portable solution and the results are available in less than 3 minutes. The direct view of the molecular interaction reduces the false-positive or -negative rate.
  • Highest mobility
    The ICHORscope device can be used virtually anywhere as a plug & play technique. It requires no calibration and no services. The collected data can be used for geo-mapping in order to detect infection at an early stage.
